Your wedding photographs will be a beautiful and lasting reminder of your special day so you should be prepared to pay for reputable, quality photographers.

Visit several local photographers and view their work as many have different styles from traditional to very contemporary. When you find one you like, make sure that in any contracts, the exact person who’s work you’ve seen will be the person taking your photographs.

The best photographers will be unobtrusive once the formal photographs have been taken so they can capture the feeling of the day and take natural pictures of you and your guests.

Ensure that you get the photographs you want by discussing your requirements with your photographer before hand and providing him with a list of the variations of group photographs you want.

When taking the formal photographs, it is best to take any big group shots first to allow the guests time to be freed up to mingle with each other and take their own photos.

Always check with the church first that you are allowed to have a photographer taking pictures within the building. Most churches are covered by licence and copyright protection and may charge you a large fee when granting your photographer permission to work
