The Wedding Reception

The wedding reception or ‘wedding breakfast’ as it can be known, celebrates the marriage of the bride and groom and the ‘marriage’ of their families.

The reception follows directly after the wedding ceremony once the formal photographs have been taken and normally begins with the reception line-up where the wedding party are introduced to all the guests.

The bridal party are seated at the top table and seating plans will determine where guests will be seated. It is normal for the meal to have finished before the speeches take place then the cutting of the cake takes place. Once all the formalities of the day are complete, the party begins and evening guests will arrive to celebrate the day.
